Learning Objective:
To become more familiar with basic medical concepts, related to client health that would affect safe participation in exercise programs. Pilates teachers should be able to identify health risks for exercise, assess if clients are safe to participate in programs, know what pace or appropriate level to develop a workout plan based on a client's health. Instructors should also be able to identify when to refer a client to a more experienced professional or obtain medical clearance prior to starting an exercise program. This course is open to the general public, Pilates teachers, and all health/wellness/fitness professionals.
