Foam Roller Favorites
The Foam Roller is great for improving core strength and balance. Learn exercises for a total body workout. Good for the beginner, and still challenging for an intermediate/advanced level student. These are great exercises to learn and practice at home and are beneficial for helping students find their weaknesses & imbalances. The ability to successfully work with the Foam Roller can assist students with finding the right muscles to support all the Pilates mat and equipment exercises!
Course will include the following:
- Determining Your Challenge Point
- Breathing & Balance
- Fundamentals on the Roller
- Arms & Shoulders
- The Torso
- The Legs
- Standing Work
- Progressions
- Full Body Massage
- Guidelines for teaching, cueing, and spotting clients to assist them in understanding proper exercise technique and alignment for safe & effective movement.
Learning Objective: At the completion of this course, participants will have:
- Knowledge of correct technique for incorporating the Foam Roller exercises into client & class programs. This includes proper execution, correct breathing patterns, & recommended repetitions.
- Awareness of cueing and spotting techniques to effectively explain how to do the exercises.
- General guidelines for identifying which exercises can best benefit a specific client's needs.
- An understanding of how to incorporate the exercises learned into a class or individual client program, and safely progress students into more challenging work.
With additional practice and preparation, participants have the knowledge to safely & effectively incorporate Foam Roller exercises into client or class programs to facilitate functional strength, flexibility and establish safe & effective movement habits.
