Teacher Education Program Matwork Series
This 3-weekend series of workshops is designed to cover the repertoire of the Pilates Matwork. Emphasis is placed on understanding the underlying principles of Joseph Pilates' philosophy for movement and health, core concepts, efficient movement, modifications & progression, teaching techniques for seeing, spotting, and cueing, and the development of safe and effective Pilates Matwork programs for individual or group class instruction. Teacher Education Program Intensive 1: Breathing Basics, Posture Principles, Fundamentals I, Basic Matwork
This course is designed to teach the Basic Pilates Matwork exercises and more..Its a combination of four separate workshops and will include: Breathing techniques, Posture Awareness, Fundamental "pre-Pilates" exercises for functional stabilization, alignment, and proper muscle recruitment, 22 Basic Matwork exercises with modifications and guidelines for working with special populations, guidelines for teaching, cueing, and spotting clients, and an outline to teach a Basic Mat class.

Dianne Miller - Review: Fundamental Concepts for the Trap Table - This preparatory workshop will include: Concepts & terminology review for functional body alignment; Pelvic Floor; Flexion & Extension of the spine in movement & stabilization; Active & Passive rotation of the spine; Femoral head placement in the hip socket; Basic shoulder mechanics as it relates to the Pilates repertoire.
Prerequisites: Experienced students & teachers, who have knowledge of
the Pilates System including Matwork & Reformer, and are confident with the
exercises at a strong intermediate level. Additional knowledge of the Trapeze
Table/Cadillac work is helpful but not required. If you have not worked with
Dianne Miller previously, this workshop is required for enrollment in the 3-day
Trapeze Table workshop. |

Dianne Miller - 3 Day: Trapeze Table/Cadillac Workshop - This workshop will cover the repertoire for the Trapeze Table as found on the
PMA Certification Examination. Focus will be placed on the exercises from
the perspectives of functional movement, optimal structural alignment, and
the primary intent of each exercise. The Trapeze Table exercises will be
related to each other, and also to the larger Pilates repertoire.
Prerequisites: Fundamental Concepts, and/or prior attendance in Dianne
Miller’s Module workshops. |

Dianne Miller - PMA Certificate Exam Study & Review - This review course will help lay the groundwork for study to pass the
PMA Certified Pilates Teacher exam and will include: Concepts & terminology review for functional body alignment; Anatomy & Planes of movement; Posture; Special Considerations; Scope of Practice; and, History.
Prerequisites: Experienced Pilates teachers and apprentice/interns who
are ready to prepare for, and pass the PMA Certified Pilates Teacher exam. |

newly developed Pilates Method Alliance Pilates Certification Exam

Bean Bag, Finger Corrector, Toe Corrector, Foot Corrector, Pin
wheel, Ped-0-Pull, Magic Circle, and Head Harness.
Prerequisites: Prior attendance in Dianne Miller’s workshops. (Please
